As a Kage Innovation Junior web designer, you will work independently and, in a team, to help  create and update websites under the supervision of an experienced web designer. You will use the provided equipment to create minor elements of a site, test different user interface styles, and produce simulations for design presentations. With experience, you will become self-reliant and develop your own pages.

Continue and complement what KAGE® Innovation has started and does well. Increase the current success by becoming a springboard from which KAGE® can spring its growth exponentially now and into the future. Continue the EOS system laid out in Gino Wickman’s “Traction” book.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Writing and debugging code
  • Troubleshooting software issues
  • Collaborating closely with developers to improve product functionality.
  • Developing innovative solutions
  • Attending developer meetings
  • Participating in code reviews and quality assurance activities
  • Participating in estimation discussions with the product team
  • Continually improving coding skills
  • Assisting the web development team with all aspects of website and application design.
  • Assisting with the testing and maintenance of backend and front-end applications.
  • Brainstorming new tech applications such as digital storage and mobile technology.
  • Collaborating with developers to implement new web features.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest technology and programming trends.
  • Converting video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, software development, or related field, and/or certifications aligning with the position.
  • Web development fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Front-end JavaScript frameworks such as View, Angular or React. Preference to React.
  • Back-end frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or ASP.NET. Preference to Node.js.
  • Content management systems (CMSs) such as WordPress, Joomla, and Squarespace knowledge and experience
  • REST API development knowledge and experience.
  • SQL knowledge and experience.
  • Git source control experience.
  • Magento Development experience a plus.
  •

Working conditions


This position will be subject to hot and cold environments. Work schedule is during normal business hours Monday through Friday, with evening and weekend work as necessary for system improvements that may impact business functions; as well as any emergencies that need to be addressed after hours to ensure the business is able to function the next business day. (Work schedule is flexible, ultimately this position would have a cadence of alternating in office hours every other week while the positions demands are part-time, with IT Manager being available for remote or tele-help service on out of office weeks.  Evenings and weekend work may be necessary for system improvements.)


Physical requirements


This job will require about 95% of your time seated, and the other 5% could be physical as you are maintaining the information infrastructure.
