Osceola Chamber of Commerce Latest Employer to Become Certified

Makes Donation to The Open Cupboard

Osceola, Wisconsin - The Osceola Area Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber) was certified as a Family Friendly Workplace earlier this month by Family Friendly Workplaces. This certification recognizes the Chamber’s commitment to its employees and their families, and sets an example for the Osceola area.

"We at the Osceola Area Chamber of Commerce are thankful to have had the opportunity to support the Family Friendly Workplace mission by completing our FFW certification process,” said Jessi Kruger, Executive Director of the Chamber. “We emphatically believe in the mission of this program as a phenomenal tool for confirming an employer's commitment to providing working parents the opportunity to progress in their careers. We recognize a great need in today’s workforce climate for this kind of support from employers and we encourage our member businesses to make the FFW Certification a standard business practice. Providing more accessible growth opportunities equitably boosts employee morale, improves brand image, and increases ease of employee recruitment and retention."

To be certified, Family Friendly Workplaces conducted a thorough review of the Chamber’s human resources policies and practices, awarding points in their matrix for policies and practices which support families and children. As a certified employer, the Chamber can use the Family Friendly Workplaces logo in their marketing and recruitment efforts, as well as access a wide-range of additional resources.

“We are proud to welcome the Osceola Chamber of Commerce to the family,” said Neil Kline, Executive Director of Family Friendly Workplaces. “Their certification speaks to the critical role employers play in community vitality through supporting employees and their families.”

As part of their certification, the Chamber committed to annually contributing to a nonprofit that supports families. This year, they routed their donation to The Open Cupboard food shelf in Osceola.

Western and northwestern Wisconsin face a long-term human resources challenge which demands a strategic approach to address. The Family Friendly Workplaces Certification Program is designed to help employers compete for talent today, while also strategically addressing this long-term problem.
